A woman named Charlotte Wilcock, 31, was found dead at a house in Blackburn, Lancs. on Saturday after the police were called to reports of a serious attack around 7.55 am. Anthony Stinson, 30, was charged with murder, and was due to appear at Blackburn Magistrates’ Court on Monday. However, police continue to appeal for information relating to Charlotte’s death.
Detective chief inspector Jill Johnston expressed condolences to Charlotte’s family and requested their privacy be respected at this distressing and difficult time. She explained that a call came in on Saturday reporting an assault in the Mill Hill area and Charlotte’s body was discovered inside the address on Primrose Terrace a short time later.
A man was arrested on suspicion of murder, and an investigation was launched to find out what had occurred. Though a man has now been charged with causing Charlotte’s death, the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
Three other men were also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, aged 32 and 24, both from Blackburn, and a 31-year-old from Clitheroe. They have all been arrested under investigation, according to Lancashire Police.
