Despite the Real Housewives of Lagos (RHOLagos) facing criticism for the lack of drama, one of the stars, Chioma Ikokwu caught the attention of Tweeps. So, who is Chioma and why is she trending?

The Real Housewives of Lagos (RHOLagos) premiered on Showmax on 8 April. While the Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD) was filled with drama, Tweeps felt RHOLagos was underwhelming.

However, Chioma Ikokwu seems to be the fan favourite.

So, what do we know about Chioma?

1. SHE IS A LAWYER AND CEO

The fan favourite is much more than just a pretty face. She is a lawyer and CEO of the luxury hair brand Good Hair Ltd. Chioma also co-owns a restaurant and lounge called Brass and Copper.

2. SHE HAS NEVER BEEN MARRIED

Chioma is the only “housewife” on RHOLagos who never married. Similar to RHOD’s LaConco, Chioma was engaged for two years before she called it quits.

3. CHIOMA DOES NOT HAVE ANY CHILDREN

The Real Housewives franchise mainly revolves around married or divorce women with children, but Chioma is one of few who never had any children. So, she brings a different angle to the series.

“So, because I’m not a housewife, it can’t just be about being a housewife. Heck, hardly any of these women are literal “housewives”. I honestly think being a Real Housewife of Lagos means being a boss-babe, a go-getter, and making that paper and that’s definitely my thing,” she said according to Showmax.

4. CHIOMA IS IGBO

The lawyer is part of an ethnic group called Igbo. She is from Oba, Anambra

5. SHE LOVES BEING IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA

Chioma says she loves being in front of the camera and did not mind long shooting hours.

“I own the cameras. There’s nothing hard about being in front of the cameras. The cameras were made for me. It’s like second nature to me. I love it. I’m having fun. To me, it’s not that serious. I don’t get offended about working overtime or 20 people in my space daily. I’m very hardworking; my work ethic is second to none. So, if we need to shoot for two hours, that’s fine. If it takes 12 hours, that’s fine. Whatever works. I’m pretty easy to shoot,” she said according to Showmax.
