Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will meet again tonight in an exhibition match between a Saudi Arabian All-Star team and Paris Saint-Germain.
Ronaldo will captain the Riyadh All-Stars against his long-standing opponent and recent World Cup champion.
Messi was presented with the most prestigious award in sport.
PSG and Messi will face an all-star squad comprised of players from Al-Hilal and Ronaldo’s new club Al-Nassr in Thursday’s exhibition match at King Fahd International Stadium.
The Saudi government’s entertainment arm reportedly auctioned off a special “Beyond Imagination” ticket for the event, guaranteeing the winner the chance to meet Ronaldo and Messi as well as access to the team dressing rooms and trophy celebration. The bidding began at $260,000 but increased to $2,600,000 before closing on Wednesday.
Ronaldo’s first game after accepting a contract worth more than $214 million per year with his new Saudi Pro League club will be this friendly.
