We’ve all had moments where a conversation goes sideways, but for actor Walton Goggins, things got really tense when he sat down for an interview with The Times — especially when the topic turned to his White Lotus co-star Aimee Lou Wood.
The interview, meant to highlight his latest projects, quickly turned into a game of verbal dodgeball the second her name came up.
The Interview That Kept Getting Derailed
Walton, 53, and Aimee, 31, portrayed a couple in the HBO Max hit series, but rumors have been swirling that things aren’t so cozy off-screen.
Fans noticed they unfollowed each other on Instagram, which of course only fueled speculation about a falling out.
Journalist Ed Porton tried to bring up Aimee during the interview, but things quickly went off the rails — not once, not twice, but three times.
The first mention was shut down immediately, with Walton saying flatly, “I’m not gonna have that conversation.”
His publicist chimed in with, “We’re not going there, thank you,” while another tried to pivot the conversation elsewhere.
A Repeated No, Followed by a Snap
Ed tried again, wondering if Aimee might make an appearance when Walton hosts Saturday Night Live next week — maybe a reconciliation was in the works?
But again, no luck.
Walton dodged the question, comparing social media to a vacuum and refusing to engage.
After a third attempt, Walton finally snapped: “What the f**k, Ed! Come on buddy. Wow.”
And with that, the interview was shut down.
A Skit That Hit a Nerve
Part of the tension stems from a recent SNL skit that left Aimee in tears.
The sketch, a parody titled “The White POTUS,” mocked her character’s smile using exaggerated fake teeth.
Walton “liked” the video online and commented with a string of laughter, though it’s not clear whether he meant the entire sketch or that specific moment.
Aimee didn’t find it funny.
In fact, she publicly called the skit “lazy and cruel,” pointing out that while she’s fine with satire, this one felt like it was punching down.
She wrote on Instagram that the joke lacked cleverness and targeted her looks in a way that didn’t sit right.
A Hint of Reconciliation?
Interestingly, Aimee later shared a fan’s drawing of her and Walton in character, possibly signaling that things might be thawing between them.
There’s even talk that the two will be working together again soon.
Entertainment reporter Elizabeth Wagmeister hinted on The Viall Files podcast that the pair have an upcoming joint project — so if there’s a feud, it’s not enough to keep them apart professionally.
An Apology That Meant Something
To add a touch of humanity to the drama, Aimee also revealed she received a heartfelt apology from SNL cast member Sarah Sherman, who was the one portraying her character in the sketch.
Sarah sent her a bouquet of flowers, which Aimee posted to Instagram with a thank-you note, making it clear she held no personal grudge against the actress.
