Virginia Giuffre, the late sex abuse survivor who accused Prince Andrew of sexual misconduct, is about to share her story with the world in a posthumous memoir.
Titled Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice, the book is scheduled to hit U.S. shelves on October 21.
A Life Marked by Tragedy and Courage
Giuffre’s memoir will be published six months after her death by suicide in Australia.
She was a prominent victim of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking network and had claimed she was trafficked at 17, including being sent to Prince Andrew.
While the Duke of York has always denied her allegations, the two reached an out-of-court settlement in 2022 for a reported $16 million.
Inside the Memoir
The 400-page book, co-written with author-journalist Amy Wallace, was completed more than a year ago but delayed due to Giuffre’s health issues. Publisher Alfred A.
Knopf, a division of Penguin Random House, described the memoir as containing “intimate, disturbing, and heartbreaking” new details about her time with Epstein and his associates, including Prince Andrew.
A Final Wish for Justice
In a heartfelt email to Wallace just weeks before her death, Giuffre expressed her wish for the memoir to be published regardless of her circumstances.
She wrote that the book’s purpose was to shed light on the systemic failures that allow the trafficking of vulnerable individuals across borders.
“It is imperative that the truth is understood and that the issues surrounding this topic are addressed,” she said, hoping to foster awareness and justice.
From Hospitalization to Posthumous Publication
Knopf reported that Giuffre had been hospitalized after a serious accident in March and sent her final email on April 1, just weeks before her death on April 25.
She emphasized that Nobody’s Girl could impact lives and spark crucial discussions about abuse and trafficking.
The Book Deal
Giuffre had reached a seven-figure deal with Penguin Press in 2023 but later moved to Knopf under acquiring editor Emily Cunningham.
The memoir is separate from her previously unpublished work, The Billionaire’s Playboy Club, referenced in earlier court filings.
Epstein, Maxwell, and Prince Andrew
Giuffre has long alleged that she was caught up in Epstein’s sex-trafficking ring during her teenage years and exploited by influential men, including Prince Andrew.
Epstein died in a New York City jail in 2019, while Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted in 2021 on charges related to trafficking.
Andrew denied Giuffre’s allegations, though they reached a settlement in 2022.
Public Interest Continues
Even after her death, Giuffre remained in the headlines. In July, former President Donald Trump commented that Epstein had “stolen” Giuffre from his Florida club, Mar-a-Lago, though she made no allegations against him.
Knopf confirmed that the memoir contains no claims against Trump but does detail her experiences with Epstein, Maxwell, and other prominent figures.
A Raw and Shocking Account
Knopf Publisher Jordan Pavlin called Nobody’s Girl a “raw and shocking” journey, highlighting Giuffre’s fierce spirit and determination to break free.
The memoir has been thoroughly fact-checked and legally vetted, ensuring its account of abuse, trafficking, and systemic failures is both accurate and impactful.
