Veteran Gangster Aomar Aït Khedache Offers Apology to Kim Kardashian During Paris Trial Over 2016 Armed Robbery

The courtroom in Paris was filled with tension and emotion this week as the infamous 2016 robbery case involving Kim Kardashian reached a critical moment.

One of the key accused, the 69-year-old veteran gangster Aomar Aït Khedache, shocked everyone by offering what he called “a thousand pardons” to the reality star he helped terrorize during that terrifying night.

The Man Who Held a Gun to Kim Kardashian’s Head Expresses Regret

Aït Khedache, who is now almost mute and partially deaf after years of poor health, struggled to find words but managed to scribble an apology on a piece of paper.

His words were then projected inside the historic Voltaire Chamber of the Paris Assizes court for everyone to see.

His crime was part of a brutal raid in October 2016, where Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint in her luxury Paris apartment.

She lost $10 million worth of jewelry, including a $4 million engagement ring from Kanye West, which remains missing to this day.

During the trial, Kim tearfully admitted she feared for her life and was certain she wouldn’t survive the ordeal.

Prosecutors Demand Prison Time Despite Age and Health

The prosecutor, Anne-Dominique Merville, made it clear that although Aït Khedache is older and apparently poses less risk of reoffending, he must still face justice.

She demanded a 10-year prison sentence for him, pointing out that his DNA was found at the scene and that he has a lengthy criminal history involving robbery and drug trafficking.

Merville also said he was trying to downplay the violence involved in the crime, something that did not sit well with the court.

The evidence showed that he wasn’t just a participant but gave the orders for the robbery and later traveled to Antwerp to sell the stolen goods.

Other Defendants Show Remorse, While Some Deny Involvement

Among the nine men and one woman on trial, another defendant, 72-year-old Yunice Abbas, pleaded guilty and also received a 10-year prison sentence request.

Abbas even wrote a book titled I Kidnapped Kim Kardashian while on remand, which prosecutors found particularly useful.

Abbas, in his final words to the court, expressed regret and apologized for his actions.

Didier Dubreucq, 69, another key figure accused of entering Kardashian’s apartment during the heist, faces the same sentence demand, although he denies the charges.

The rest of the defendants, many of whom are in their 60s and 70s and have been dubbed the “Grandpa Robbers,” denied wrongdoing and hoped for lighter sentences due to their age and health conditions.

The Only Woman Defendant Claims Innocence

The lone female defendant, 78-year-old Cathy Glotin, who was once involved with Aït Khedache, firmly denied any involvement.

She insists she had nothing to do with the crime and looked forward to reuniting with her family.

However, prosecutors allege she played a role by providing burner phones and helping the gang sell stolen goods in Antwerp.

Trial Continues as Kim Kardashian Watches from Afar

Kim Kardashian did not attend the court proceedings but kept close tabs on the trial from her home in Los Angeles through her legal team.

The reality star recently qualified as an attorney herself after six years of study and is passionate about fighting for justice — a mission inspired by her late father, Robert Kardashian Jr., who famously defended O.J. Simpson.

The trial is ongoing, with the jury expected to deliver a verdict soon.

Despite the defendants’ advanced ages and health struggles, the court seems determined to hold everyone accountable for that harrowing night in Paris.
