US Embassy in Kyiv calls on American citizens to leave Ukraine

Americans were urged to leave Ukraine by the US Embassy in Kyiv. The remark was made public on the diplomatic mission’s website.

The Russian military will “intensify attacks on civilian infrastructure and political institutions in Ukraine,” according to the US State Department, in the next days.

If it is safe to do so, the US Embassy advises US citizens to depart Ukraine via the available ground transportation.

On July 14, the US Embassy in Kyiv issued a similar plea to the city’s residents.

The war is expected to worsen on August 24, the anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, according to the Ukrainian government. The Kyiv government reportedly banned large-scale activities from August 22 to August 25.
