UAE condemns coup in Burkina Faso, calls for dialogue

ABU DHABI, 29h January 2022 The UAE has condemned the coup in Burkina Faso and the military seizure of the capital Ouagadougou.

It urged all parties to engage in dialogue and to exercise self-restraint while emphasising the need to achieve stability and security in the country and the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said in a statement it has been closely following developments in Burkina Faso and reiterated its support to a political solution and dialogue within the framework of constitutional institutions and the rule of law and in a way that will lead to realising the aspirations of the friendly people of Burkina Faso.
