Two-Year-Old Boy Tragically Dies After Fireplace and Television Collapse on Him While Dancing with Sister in Wigan Home

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a two-year-old boy named Carter Walsh has tragically lost his life after a fireplace and a television fell on him while he was dancing with his older sister.

This incident occurred at their home in Wigan, Greater Manchester, while their mother was at work.

Details of the Accident

Carter was reportedly crushed when the fireplace and TV collapsed.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving a call around 2:15 PM, but despite the efforts of paramedics, he sadly succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Neighbors were taken aback by the emergency response, with one resident commenting on the heavy police and ambulance presence, saying, “We saw a lot of police and ambulance activity but didn’t know what it was at the time.”

Community Grieves Together

As the news spread, an outpouring of grief followed on social media.

Friends and community members shared heartfelt tributes to the little boy.

Ellie Sutcliffe wrote, “RIP Carter, you beautiful boy; what a cruel world we live in,” while Vikki Taylor expressed her sorrow, saying, “My heart is broke for you all. RIP Carter.”

A fundraising page has also been set up in Carter’s memory, organized by a family member, to support his grieving family.

Ongoing Investigations

Authorities are currently investigating the incident.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed that they received reports about a child in distress and responded promptly.

They noted, “Sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics, a two-year-old boy died at the hospital.

Enquiries are ongoing.” Meanwhile, the North West Ambulance Service reported that multiple units, including an air ambulance, were dispatched to the home following a 999 call.
