Two Toddlers Suffer Serious Injuries After Dog Suddenly Attacks Inside a Home in Prescot

What started as a regular day on Johnson Avenue in Prescot quickly turned into a terrifying ordeal.

Late Thursday afternoon, emergency services rushed to a home after a violent dog attack left two small children and a teenager seriously injured.

Two Young Children Rushed to Hospital After Vicious Dog Attack

Around 4 p.m., a two-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy were inside a home when they were attacked by a dog.

An 18-year-old woman at the scene was also hurt.

The toddlers suffered serious injuries to their legs and arms and were quickly taken to the hospital for treatment.

The severity of their wounds has not been fully disclosed, but police described the injuries as “serious.”

Police Seize Dog and Launch Urgent Investigation

Merseyside Police responded swiftly, securing the dog at the property and beginning a full investigation.

Officers are now working to determine exactly what kind of dog it was and who owns it.

The breed has not yet been confirmed, and it’s unclear if the dog had a history of aggression.

Chief Inspector Phil Thompson spoke about the gravity of the situation, saying:

“This is a shocking incident that has resulted in two toddlers being taken to hospital with serious injuries. We’re in the early stages of our investigation, but we’ve already seized the dog and are working to identify its breed and owner.”

Police Appeal for Witnesses and CCTV Footage

As part of the investigation, officers remain at the scene conducting house-to-house enquiries and reviewing any available CCTV footage in the area.

They’re asking anyone who may have seen what happened or who has relevant information to come forward.
