Trump Calls for Ban on Boxes and Artificial Lifts in Debate Against Kamala Harris as Showdown Approaches in Philadelphia

As the debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris approaches, Trump has made a surprising demand: no boxes or “artificial lifts” should be used.

This request is setting the stage for their showdown next week in Philadelphia.

Trump’s Stand Against Height Boosters

Trump, who stands at 6-foot-3, took to his Truth Social platform to express his opposition to any height-boosting aids, calling them “cheating.”

He emphasized, “No boxes or artificial lifts will be allowed during my debate with Comrade Kamala Harris.”

He compared the situation to a previous debate involving former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, stating that Bloomberg wasn’t allowed any height assistance, which he deemed fair.

Height Discrepancies and Their Impact

Trump’s insistence on this rule could have significant implications, given the historical tendency for taller candidates to garner more votes.

Kamala Harris, who is 5-foot-4, might find herself at a visual disadvantage even if she opts for heels.

Height Controversies

Trump’s own height has been under scrutiny, especially after conflicting reports emerged.

He initially reported himself as 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds before his booking at Fulton County jail in Georgia.

However, in April 2023, he was listed as 6-foot-2 and 240 pounds during his indictment in New York.

Debate Logistics and Legal Developments

Ahead of the debate, Trump’s team has agreed to a rule that candidates’ microphones will be muted when they are not speaking.

This could be a setback for Harris, who might have planned to leverage Trump’s notorious outbursts.

In other news, Trump’s legal team recently secured a delay for his sentencing in the Stormy Daniels case.

Originally set for September 18th, the new date is November 26th, after the election results are expected to be known.

This delay was requested by Trump’s team, while prosecutors left the decision to the judge, who perceived this as implicit support for the delay.
