TRAINEES FROM BONNY KINGDOM VISIT TOURISM MINISTRY ON EXPERIENTIAL TOUR

The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture last week played host to some trainees from Bonny Kingdom, Rivers State, under the Goge Africa pan-African tourism and cultural programme, for an experiential tour.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Princess Adenike Adedoyin-Ajayi, who received the students and the Managing Director of Goge Africa with his wife, Mr. Isaac and Nneka Moses in Alausa, described the visit as a welcome development that will deepen the knowledge of the students, whom she labelled as future tourism ambassadors of their respective localities.

She commended the sponsors of the training initiative, saying that investment in human capacity development and tourism promotion, being a fast-growing industry, is a step in the right direction.

Princess Adedoyin-Ajayi expressed the willingness of the Ministry to always identify with individuals or groups whose activities complement the vision of the present administration for the sector.

She advised the students to carve a niche for themselves in their various areas of specialisation and be determined to sustain the good legacies of Goge Africa that has become a household name and a reputable tourism programme across the country.

The initiator of Goge Africa and his wife, Mr. Isaac and Nneka Moses appreciated the Ministry for the warm reception, saying that the success story and the concept of Goge Africa, which started in Lagos, was made possible through the conducive atmosphere provided by the State government.

They affirmed that the support enjoyed from the State Government could not be quantified in monetary terms, considering the friendly policies and laws put in place by the government for the tourism and hospitality sector.

During the session, the Directors of the Research and Development, Tourism Promotion, Hotel Licensing, Creative Arts and Monuments Management in the Ministry took turns to enlighten the Goge Africa’s trainees on the activities, mandates and programmes of the Ministry.
