Tottenham forward Dominic Solanke undergoes minor ankle surgery following persistent injury and limited appearances in London

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Dominic Solanke has undergone surgery to address an ankle problem that has been troubling him for the past two months.

The £65million England striker has been sidelined for much of the season, and the club hope this minor procedure will put him back on track.

Injury Disrupts Preseason and Early Campaign

Solanke first picked up the injury during a preseason friendly against Reading, the opening match under new Spurs boss Thomas Frank.

The striker missed most of the preseason as the club tried conservative treatments including rest and injections, but the issue persisted.

Since returning, Solanke has only made three substitute appearances and has not started a game this season.

His last appearance on the pitch was over a month ago, highlighting the challenges Spurs have faced in getting their star forward fit.

Manager Confirms Surgery and Next Steps

Ahead of Tottenham’s Champions League clash against Bodo/Glimt on Tuesday, Frank addressed Solanke’s surgery, saying:
“It’s time to make a minor surgery.

We will know more about timeframes after the international break, but I don’t expect it to be long.”

The manager suggested optimism about the recovery timeline, indicating the procedure is not expected to keep the striker out for an extended period.

Team Updates Ahead of Norway Trip

Spurs will be without Randal Kolo Muani, who is recovering from a dead leg and has missed the past three games, as he has not yet resumed training.

Captain Cristian Romero also did not travel to Norway, though Frank described his absence as a precautionary measure.

Busy Schedule Awaits Tottenham

After the midweek Champions League trip to Norway, Spurs return to Premier League action with a match against Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday.

This comes just before the international break, giving the squad a packed schedule in the coming days.

Solanke’s surgery represents a crucial step for Tottenham as they aim to regain full fitness among their key players while navigating both domestic and European competitions.
