Tottenham confirm Dominic Solanke has ankle operation after failed treatment as striker misses Champions League trip to Bodo Glimt

Tottenham’s big-money striker, Dominic Solanke, has finally gone under the knife to deal with an ankle issue that’s been bothering him for the past couple of months.

What started as a knock in a preseason friendly against Reading has turned into something more persistent, forcing Spurs to take action.

Struggles Since Preseason

The £65 million forward barely featured during preseason and has only managed a handful of cameo appearances from the bench this campaign.

He hasn’t started a single game yet and has been sidelined completely for over a month.

For Spurs fans, it’s been frustrating not seeing him lead the line as expected.

Rest and Injections Weren’t Enough

At first, the medical team hoped rest and injections would help Solanke recover without needing surgery.

Unfortunately, the pain never really went away, and manager Thomas Frank confirmed the club had no choice but to opt for a “minor surgery” to fix the problem.

He reassured supporters that they’ll know more about Solanke’s recovery timeline after the upcoming international break, and it shouldn’t be a long absence.

Other Injury Concerns for Spurs

Solanke isn’t the only player missing.

Randal Kolo Muani, who’s been dealing with a dead leg, still hasn’t returned to training.

On top of that, captain Cristian Romero has been left out of the traveling squad to Norway as a precaution, even though his issue isn’t considered serious.

Busy Week Ahead

Spurs are set to face Bodo/Glimt in Tuesday’s Champions League tie, just days after their 1-1 draw with Wolves.

Once that’s done, they’ll quickly shift focus to the Premier League with a tricky trip to Leeds United at Elland Road before the international break.
