Tori Spelling and her ex-husband Dean McDermott have been hit with a hefty financial reminder following the end of their 17-year marriage.
The final divorce judgment reveals that the former couple owes over $1.3 million in unpaid federal and state taxes.
According to filings in Los Angeles Superior Court, the pair is responsible for $1.2 million to the IRS and more than $500,000 to the California Franchise Tax Board.
Each will shoulder at least $600,000 of the federal debt, with the state taxes split evenly between them.
Other Outstanding Debts Come to Light
The divorce documents also shed light on additional debts accumulated over the years.
The couple still owes $37,000 to American Express, and a six-figure loan with City National Bank has ballooned to nearly $400,000.
Tori has further obligations including $288,000 to one private lender, $69,000 to another, and over $10,000 in uninsured medical costs.
Dean, meanwhile, carries $22,000 from a student loan and roughly $20,609 in medical bills not covered by insurance.
Income Disclosures Reveal Financial Struggles
The divorce filings also detailed both parties’ earnings.
Dean reported earning $3,800 per month, explaining that his income dropped due to industry changes and the SAG/AFTRA strikes.
He noted: “My acting and producing work has decreased drastically.”
Tori’s income, on the other hand, was stated to fluctuate between $3,000 and $75,000 monthly depending on her work.
A Marriage and Divorce Timeline
The couple announced their separation in June 2023, with Tori filing for divorce nine months later. Their split was officially finalized earlier this month, with court documents outlining support, custody, and asset division agreements.
The former couple share five children: Liam, 18; Stella, 17; Hattie, 14; Finn, 13; and Beau, 8.
Dean also has a 27-year-old son, Jack, from a previous relationship with Mary Jo Eustace.
Tori Reflects on the Divorce
Shortly after the settlement, Tori spoke candidly on her misSPELLING podcast about the process. “I am officially divorced.
It’s been quite a journey,” she said. She described the divorce as surprisingly smooth, calling it “one of the easiest divorces in Hollywood.”
She explained that while the marriage had its ups and downs, the separation itself was calm and cooperative.
“We’ve had absolutely no problems throughout the divorce.
It’s a testament to the two of us wanting to really step up and be there for the five humans we chose to create out of love,” she added.
Looking Ahead
Even with the hefty tax bill and long list of debts, Tori emphasized the focus on family and moving forward positively.
Her public remarks suggest that, despite financial hurdles, both she and Dean are committed to providing stability for their children while navigating post-divorce life.
