Tesilimi Olawale Ayinde Balogun (1927 – 30 July 1972) was a Nigerian football player and coach. Balogun played at both professional and international levels as a striker, with nicknames “Thunder and Balinga”. He became Africa’s first qualified professional football coach.
In his home city of Lagos, the former striker now has a multi-purpose stadium named after him, ensuring his legacy continues.
In Surulere, Lagos, the Teslim Balogun Stadium is mostly used for football matches, and hosts First Bank FC, as well as some National Youth games.
