Toke Makinwa, a media figure, has asserted that internet preoccupation has damaged the current generation to the point where they no longer recognize limits.

The show’s host took to Twitter to discuss how people deal with issues on social media.

Makinwa remarked in a series of tweets that people should call their friends instead than communicating openly on social media.

“You better not be holding public opinion polls or setting up analysis on the streets of social media if there is ever a controversy out there about me and I consider you a friend, not an industry associate but a friend,” she tweeted.

“This generation is so obsessed with the internet we don’t know boundaries anymore. If you are my friend, we win together, we suffer loss together, we are in this together and that’s on a period.

“You have my number, use it as a friend. Stop offering advice to your so-called friends on social media, you look like a joke.

“We can disagree in private, beat ourselves up behind closed doors but not air your thoughts on my life with your community. That’s fowl.”

Though the media personality did not mention who or what she was referring to, it’s pertinent to note that her message comes few days after some celebrities expressed their thoughts on a sex tape scandal involving singer Tiwa Savage.

When the singer’s alleged sex tape appeared online, fellow celebrities and fans took to social media to comment on the scandal.

While some shared their support and encouragement concerning the sex tape, others berated the singer for the act.
