The name of our new daily Kaizer Chiefs segment is Transfer Signing of the Day. Since the year 2000, we examine each successful Amakhosi transfer.
The transfer of the day is a man who attended the renowned Transnet School of Excellence before transferring to Naturena as a junior.
In 2000-2001, while he was 22 years old, he was quickly promoted from Amakhosi’s reserve squad. Gerald Sibeko’s name is Sibeko. He played as a central midfielder in football.
While Sibeko did not have a particularly spectacular career as a midfielder for Chiefs, he became a legend for his 11-year tenure with Amakhosi, where he was a model professional with impeccable discipline off the field.
The Soweto-born player retired in 2012 and quickly became Bobby Motaung’s assistant manager. Later, when Sibeko was appointed team manager, the latter’s responsibilities evolved into those of a football manager.
