The latest PSL transfer rumours: Kaizer Chiefs, Pirates and more

Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has been linked with a move to take over at Zamalek.

Hunt could also end up going head to head with former Mamelodi Sundowns boss Pitso Mosimane in Egypt.

Having been previously linked with Kaizer Chiefs, there is reportedly renewed interest from Naturena in Argentine midfielder Junior Mendieta.

Despite having ambitions to play in Europe, Mendieta has said that he would like to stay in South Africa.

“I would like to play in a big team and fight for important things. It would be nice to play in Europe too, time will tell. In the meantime, I will continue to work hard, always giving my best where I have to,” Mendieta told Goal.

“My family is in South Africa and they are my pillar of strength. If my family is well, then I am well and happy,” added Mendieta.

Orlando Pirates dismiss Mabasa departure rumours

Orlando Pirates insiders have dismissed the suggestion that Tshegofatso Mabasa could be about to leave the club.

Mabasa has struggled for game-time due to a combination of injury and good form for Kwame Peprah, but is reportedly happy at Pirates.

“There is no truth to reports linking the player with an exit as he is still in the plans of the club. It is just rumours that should be treated as such,” a source told Soccer Laduma.

Does Samir Nurkovic have a future at Kaizer Chiefs?

Should Stuart Baxter be shown the door at Kaizer Chiefs it might put the fate of Samir Nurkovic in the new coach’s hands.

It is unclear how Arthur Zwane might envision using Nurkovic.

There is a feeling around Kaizer Chiefs that a new striker is needed in this group.

“I think Chiefs need someone like Shalulile, who will come in and score goals for fun.

“In the local market, I don’t think there are strikers who are consistent enough,” Katlego ‘Killer’ Mphela told Soccer Laduma.

“Going abroad is an option, but they shouldn’t just bring anyone for the sake of it.

“They need quality, they to go back to the days of getting strikers like Collins Mbesuma and Knowledge Musona.”
