“I don’t remember the first time I heard music, but I always loved listening to Celine Dion on the radio,” said the listener. Celine Dion is adored in Nigeria. Her songs have a jump-off-a-cliff quality to them. They got inside of me. I believe that was the beginning of my love for music.
Tems began songwriting before she was a teenager not long after discovering her love for music. She was soon consumed by the sensation.”And then, when I was nine or ten, I began composing songs, but they didn’t have choruses; instead, they were just lyrics about the emotions I was experiencing. After that, music became my addiction and the one thing that gave me a sense of life. The emotion I experienced upon receiving my first CD is indescribable. I learnt all 30 songs on a bogus Destiny’s Child CD that had 30 tracks on it.
Tems is a budding musician who quickly won recognition throughout the world for her music and songwriting. She has become a veritable sensation because to her joint work with renowned performers like Drake and Beyonce. Tems has recently put out two EPs, If Orange Was a Place in 2021 and For Broken Ears in 2020, and she is presently working on her much awaited first album.
