Teddi Mellencamp Shares Her Immunotherapy Journey and Anxiety Struggles With Fans From Hospital in Los Angeles

Life has thrown Teddi Mellencamp a series of intense challenges, and the reality star is not shying away from showing her journey.

The 44-year-old, known to many as John Mellencamp’s daughter and a former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, recently took her fans right into her hospital room during another round of immunotherapy treatment for stage 4 cancer.

Sharing the Struggle on Instagram

Teddi gave her 1.2 million Instagram followers a glimpse of her reality with a candid post in her Instagram Stories.

Sitting in a hospital chair with an IV attached, she simply captioned the image, “Immunotherapy Day.”

This wasn’t just a casual update—Teddi has been vocal about the anxiety and challenges her treatment brings.

In mid-August, she admitted to experiencing “severe anxiety on random days for no apparent reason” and reached out to her followers for support.

She wrote, “Like today, I was able to walk. I did the podcast and now I’m just sitting here full of anxiety.

What are things that you guys have done to help make you feel better?”

The Toll of Immunotherapy

Her most recent treatment marks another chapter in a long battle with melanoma, the type of cancer that first appeared years ago.

In July, during an episode of her podcast Two Ts In A Pod, Teddi shared that her immunotherapy treatments, which initially made her feel strong enough to attend her daughter’s horse shows and handle daily life, have started to make her feel sicker.

“Essentially, what we figured out with me was, yes, I started out feeling great… and I felt really strong.

And what’s happening with me is the longer that I’m on immunotherapy, the sicker it’s making me,” she explained.

After consulting with her doctors, they decided to pause the treatment temporarily to allow her body to regain strength.

“We’re going to take a little break on the immunotherapy to get my body back feeling stronger,” Teddi confirmed.

New Health Scares

The fight hasn’t eased up. On August 20, a routine skin check revealed another abnormal spot on her abdomen, which her doctors quickly removed to test for melanoma.

Teddi has undergone more than 17 surgeries over the years, primarily on her back, and earlier this year, doctors discovered her melanoma had spread to her brain and lungs, prompting emergency brain surgery and radiation.

Family Life and Living Arrangements

Through it all, Teddi and her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, remain committed to their blended family.

They share custody of three children together—daughter Slate, 12; son Cruz, 11; and daughter Dove, 5—as well as Edwin’s daughter Bella, 16, from a previous relationship.

The couple also continues to live in their $6.5 million Encino home, putting their divorce on hold due to Teddi’s health struggles.

Their marriage of 13 years reportedly ended amid rumors of Teddi’s affair with her horse trainer, Simon Schröeder, though both parties involved have confirmed the situation.

Dating Life Amid Treatment

Even with her health challenges and complex home situation, Teddi has been exploring dating through the Hinge app.

Speaking on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, she acknowledged her past mistakes and reflected on how her actions may have contributed to her hardships, saying, “Did I do things that hurt other people? Yes.

To this day, does it still hurt my heart and I wonder if that’s why it got cancer? Yes, like it was my payback…nothing goes without payment.”

Despite all the hurdles, Teddi continues to document her journey, sharing moments of strength and vulnerability with her fans while navigating life, love, and cancer treatment.
