Swedish striker Alexander Isak moves out of high end Darras Hall property following frightening break ins while Newcastle and Liverpool battle over his future

Alexander Isak’s time in one of Northumberland’s most exclusive neighbourhoods has quietly come to an end.

The Newcastle United striker, who had been renting a £7,000-a-month property in Darras Hall, has packed up and moved out — but sources close to the situation insist it’s not directly tied to his push to join Liverpool.

Since arriving from Real Sociedad in 2022 for a £63 million transfer fee, the Swedish forward had called the four-bedroom home his base.

It wasn’t just any house — it boasted an open-plan kitchen, a stylish lounge, and even its own entertainment room.

He had been renewing the tenancy annually, with this summer marking another renewal date.

A Departure Years in the Making

Although the house was put on the market last month, at the very same time Isak was making it clear he wanted a move to Merseyside, locals say this was no coincidence.

According to neighbours, the decision to leave had been in the pipeline for some time — and for a very unsettling reason.

Isak had been the victim of not one, but two burglaries.

The last incident was so severe that it changed how he felt about living there entirely.

The Night Everything Changed

In April 2024, while returning from a casual evening at a colleague’s home, Isak arrived to find his own property ransacked.

A gang had broken in, stealing his sports car, £68,000 worth of jewellery, and up to £10,000 in cash.

Court documents revealed the burglars even hurled a heavy safe over an upstairs balcony, then used his car as a battering ram to smash through the gates.

The culprits — a family of four — were later jailed in May, but that did little to ease Isak’s discomfort.

“The attack on my home has left me with a sense of unease,” his victim statement read. “I fear it could reoccur.”

Newcastle Responds to Player Security

Following a wave of similar incidents targeting footballers, Newcastle United had stepped in, installing monitored alarm systems and organising security patrols.

Even so, the damage to Isak’s peace of mind was done.

The once-safe haven now felt more like a target.

The Transfer Saga That Won’t Go Away

Away from the housing drama, Isak’s football future has been one of the biggest stories of the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old has informed both the club and manager Eddie Howe that he wants to leave for Liverpool.

Right now, he’s not training with his Newcastle teammates and won’t feature in Saturday’s Premier League opener against Aston Villa.

A deal, however, remains complicated — Newcastle won’t sanction a sale until they’ve secured at least one replacement striker.

Liverpool’s Bid Falls Short

Earlier this month, the Premier League champions tabled a £110 million offer, which Newcastle promptly rejected.

Howe, ever the optimist, hopes Isak will have a change of heart and remain at St James’ Park.

Realistically though, the writing seems to be on the wall — it’s just a matter of whether Liverpool come back with a figure Newcastle can’t refuse.
