The celebrations didn’t end on the pitch for Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

Just hours after securing third place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, some of the team’s stars were spotted enjoying themselves at a Lagos nightclub.

Fans were quick to notice Victor Osimhen, captain Wilfred Ndidi, and defender Chidozie Awaziem letting loose in the city.

Birthday Bash Meets Football Glory

The outing was part of socialite Babatunde Akinpelu’s, better known as Tunde Perry, birthday celebrations.

Early Sunday morning, Perry shared a lively video of himself alongside Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, with Ndidi and Awaziem visible in the background.

The social media post, captioned with Perry’s trademark slang, celebrated the squad’s camaraderie: “Kai from Morocco Victor… Otorpinpin paaaaaa DATieeeee Mo,” which roughly translates to “know your squad.”

Perry added, “8 am on Sunday, on my birthday,” while filming the star-studded gathering. Osimhen received a ceremonious welcome into the club, marking a jubilant end to a successful AFCON campaign.

Nigeria Clinches Third Place Against Egypt

The Super Eagles had earlier defeated Egypt 4–2 on penalties in Casablanca after a goalless draw in regulation time, earning a record ninth bronze medal in Africa Cup of Nations history.

The third-place clash came after Nigeria and Egypt fell short in the semi-finals—Nigeria losing 4–2 to hosts Morocco, and Egypt edged 1–0 by Senegal.

Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali emerged as the hero, saving penalties from Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush, while Akor Adams, Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi, and Ademola Lookman successfully converted their spot-kicks to secure victory.

Players’ Performances in Focus

Victor Osimhen, who didn’t play in the third-place match, was seen leaving Stade Mohammed V on Saturday after celebrating with teammates in the dressing room.

Across five matches in the tournament, Osimhen scored four goals and assisted once, making a huge impact for Nigeria.

Captain Ndidi played in all matches except the final group game against Uganda and reportedly sustained an injury during the quarter-final against Algeria.

Awaziem came off the bench in four games, contributing to the team’s defensive efforts.

Teammates Depart Morocco as Medal Ceremony Approaches

Some teammates, including Sevilla stars Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke, have already left Morocco, while others are expected to attend Sunday’s medal presentation.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the final clash between hosts Morocco and Senegal at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, scheduled to kick off at 8:00 pm.
