In their last Hollywoodbets Super League game, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies will meet Richmond United Ladies.
The defending champions dominated the league and broke several goal-scoring and defensive records.
Coach Jerry ‘Kappa’ Tshabalala feels his team has learned from their CAF title loss.
“We’ve had a lengthy but intriguing season of tournaments. Regardless of the COSAFA Qualifiers and CAF Women’s Champions League outcomes, I am pleased of my charges’ bravery this season. We played almost 35 games and dealt with injuries and tiredness. Coach Jerry said, “We’ve learnt our lessons and can’t wait for next season.”
Kappa believes his team can finish well against Richmond United Ladies.
“Everyone in camp wants to finish strong. Richmond’s season-long success hasn’t been forgotten. They have a solid offensive with dominant midfielders. We saw how easy they beat Thunderbirds, so we won’t be complacent. We know they’ll be hoping for an upset, but we’ll be ready to battle for maximum points,” Kappa said.
Brazilians dominated Hollywoodbets Super League this season. In 29 games, Chloorkop has won 26. Coach Tshabalala’s team has scored 122 goals and surrendered 11, both league highs. Banyana Ba Style has +111 goals.
Richmond United Ladies are 7th in the rankings with 15 victories in 29 games and are guaranteed to finish no lower than their present position.
Brazil has recently liked this matchup. Sundowns Ladies scored 10 goals last season, 5-1 at home and 2-5 away. Lelona Daweti and Chuene Morifi scored braces earlier this season.
The game might also resolve the highest scorer of the season discussion between Boitumelo Rabale (24) and Miche Minnies (22). Andisiwe Mgcoyi scored 12 goals last year, Melinda Kgadiete scored 10, and Rhoda Mulaudzi scored 8.
