What started as a typical day in the Russian city of Omsk quickly turned hazardous when a sudden windstorm tore through the area, bringing with it chaos, damage—and injury.

Falling Concrete Injures Woman Outside Bank

Amid the high winds, a concrete balcony slab unexpectedly came loose and crashed down on a woman standing at the entrance of a local bank.

According to the Omsk regional prosecutor’s office, she suffered serious injuries, including a head trauma and a broken collarbone.

Authorities are still in the process of officially verifying all the details, but early reports from witnesses paint a concerning picture.

Storm Wreaks Havoc Across the City

The collapse wasn’t the only issue triggered by the fierce weather.

The Telegram channel “Incident Omsk” reported that a gas pipeline was also damaged on Chelyuskintsev Street, cutting off supply to six nearby apartment buildings.

Public transportation didn’t escape the chaos either—a tram was knocked off its tracks as gusts tore through the city’s infrastructure.

Investigation Launched Into Building Safety

Emergency responders were quick to arrive on the scene, and law enforcement is now digging deeper into what caused the balcony slab to fall.

The local prosecutor’s office has launched a formal investigation to determine if the structure had been properly maintained, and whether poor building standards or negligence played a role in the collapse.
