Steven Seagal, the American actor known for his martial arts films, has taken another step into the Russian business world.
According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (EGRUL), Seagal has co-founded a new Russian company called Hikari, officially registered on August 26, 2025, with Dmitry Sukhodolov appointed as CEO.
Family Affair: Shared Ownership
Seagal holds a 34% stake in Hikari, while his son, Dominic Seagal, owns 33%.
An investment firm, LLC “ECO-INVEST 23,” also holds 33%, giving all three parties joint control over the company’s operations. Together, they are overseeing a venture that spans consulting, trade, and waste management.
What Hikari Does
Hikari is not just a consulting firm—it has a diverse portfolio.
The company advises on commercial activities and management, trades in vehicles, furniture, household goods, and food products, and is even authorized to process waste plastic.
Essentially, the firm covers everything from everyday commodities to environmental management services.
Steven Seagal’s Russian Business History
This isn’t Seagal’s first foray into Russian business.
In 2018, he became an individual entrepreneur and served as president of the Steven Seagal Group.
More recently, he launched Five Elements in 2023, a company focused on water and beverage production, though he stepped down as CEO of that firm on July 22, 2025.
Citizenship and Diplomatic Roles
Seagal has held Russian citizenship since 2016 after personally requesting it from the Kremlin, a process that reportedly involved multiple applications over several years.
In addition to his U.S. passport, he also holds Serbian citizenship. Beyond business, Seagal has served as a special representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry for Russian-American humanitarian relations since 2018, bridging cultural and diplomatic connections between the two countries.
A Multifaceted Life in Russia
From Hollywood star to Russian entrepreneur and diplomatic envoy, Seagal’s life has taken a unique turn.
With Hikari now added to his portfolio, the actor-turned-businessman continues to expand his presence and influence in Russia across business, culture, and diplomacy.
