After Sunday night’s 2025 BAFTA Television Awards, Stacey Solomon couldn’t hold back her feelings about missing out on a prestigious win.
The 35-year-old presenter was clearly disappointed after her BBC show Sort Your Life Out lost in the Factual Entertainment category to Grand Tour hosted by Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder.
Despite congratulating the winners, Stacey made it clear that she felt her team deserved the award.
Stacey’s Honest Emotions
Stacey, known for her usually positive demeanor, took to Instagram to express her frustration.
She shared her devastation with her fans in a rare moment of candidness, admitting that the loss was hard to swallow.
Dressed casually in a green Nike sweater and blue cycling shorts, Stacey watered her vegetable garden while speaking directly to her followers about the loss.
“I know I’m supposed to take it gracefully, but honestly, I’m devastated!” she said, her emotions raw.
“I’m gutted for our team. They worked so hard, and they deserved that BAFTA.”
A Shoutout to the Team
In her emotional rant, Stacey highlighted the dedication and effort her team puts into making Sort Your Life Out.
“It’s not an easy show to make,” she explained.
“We pack up a house, move everything, and make sure that things get donated, recycled, or resold.
The work is meticulous and so deserving of recognition.”
Stacey also made sure to mention how the families who participate in the show are at risk of judgment, yet still give their time generously.
“Everyone got dressed up and was hopeful because they believed in what we do,” she said.
“I’m just gutted for them.”
A Classy Response from Co-Star Dilly Carter
While Stacey let her emotions flow, her co-star, professional organizer Dilly Carter, took a slightly different approach.
After the loss, Dilly took to social media to graciously express her gratitude for the nomination, showing a more reserved and professional attitude.
However, Stacey made her feelings clear in the comment section of Dilly’s post, reinforcing just how much the loss affected her.
Red Carpet Fashion and Sustainable Choices
Aside from her emotional Instagram post, Stacey also made waves on the red carpet.
In a nod to sustainability, she repurposed her wedding dress from her July 2022 wedding to Joe Swash for the BAFTA ceremony.
The event encouraged guests to wear existing outfits, whether from their own wardrobe or rented, to promote eco-friendly practices.
Stacey’s wedding dress was transformed into a chic playsuit, with a thigh-high slit and dramatic pointed detailing at the neckline, all while keeping the original corseted bodice.
“Wearing my wedding dress just once felt like a travesty,” Stacey shared, explaining her decision to give the dress another moment in the spotlight.
Celebrating the Show’s Success, Despite the Loss
Despite the disappointment, Stacey remained proud of what Sort Your Life Out has accomplished.
She shared a heartfelt video on Instagram, celebrating how far the show has come from its pilot days.
“It’s unreal that we were even nominated, let alone twice,” she said.
“Being in a room full of such incredible talent was an honor. Let’s keep pushing forward and give it our all for series six.”
