The winner, who prefers to stay anonymous, finally answered her bank’s calls after a few days of ignoring them.
She thought it was just another sales pitch.
The ticket, bought for just R37.50 through the Absa Banking App, held the winning numbers from the 5 August 2025 draw: 10, 32, 34, 40, 48, with the Bonus Ball 14.
It wasn’t until she arrived at the ITHUBA office in Johannesburg that she learned she had hit the jackpot.
“I’m still in shock,” she admitted. “My dream of owning a car will finally come true.”

The winner shared how much the prize means for her family.
With her husband unemployed for years, they had been living on just one income — a struggle she described as “hand-to-mouth.”
“This win will change everything for us,” she said emotionally. “I wish my parents were still alive to see this.
I plan to rebuild and restore their house as our family home.”
