Somizi Mhlongo responds to abuse allegations levelled against him by husband Mohale Motaung

At a press conference today, media personality Somizi Mhlongo reacted to claims of abuse leveled against him by his estranged husband Mohale Motaung, as part of his Idols SA return (16 February).
In August 2021, Mohale Motaung claimed that Somizi Mhlongo physically and psychologically assaulted him in released audio clips. Somizi hasn’t spoken anything about the charges until now, save from denying them.
At a press conference, Somizi was asked a question about the allegations of abuse. He claims that his personal and professional lives are separate, but that they occasionally collide. Following that, the media celebrity stated that he is innocent unless proven guilty. Have a peek…

“As you may have noticed I’ve never spoken about anything and I believe my private life is my private life. My work life is my work life but sometimes those things also (clash),” he said.
“So, I’m still standing there. I feel like I can’t say anything at the moment and I don’t want to say anything at the moment regarding that but it was one of the toughest times of my life and my career but we move forward and like they say ‘guilty until proven innocent’… no ‘innocent until proven guilty’ and also I would like to end it there,” he continued.
