Several stores belonging by foreign people were plundered by Shunordo locals near Jane Fours, Limpopo.

The assaults on foreign nationals in the neighbourhood followed an attack on a teenager on Friday, which is suspected to have been perpetrated by a foreign national spaza business owner.

Now, the tension has extended to other parts of Jane Fears’s city.

The police were summoned to diffuse the conflict.

Anwar Safir, the owner of a store that was ransacked throughout the night, has requested for police protection.

Safir says: “Many shops were looted and smashed, so many shops they took and now we are staying here in Shunord next to the taxi stand. So I left half today and half yesterday and we heard about 8 o’clock that they were looting so we tried to call the police but they didn’t come so they looted all our stock.’
