Sino-Africa Green Finance Alliance supports African experts to design climate-friendly financial systems through an eight-week virtual programme

As the world moves toward cleaner, more sustainable economies, Africa’s role in shaping that transition has never been more vital.

Recognising this, the Sino-Africa Green Finance Alliance (SAGFA) Fellowship has launched an exciting opportunity for professionals across the continent — a fully funded programme designed to nurture a new generation of African leaders in green finance and sustainable economic growth.

About the Fellowship

The SAGFA Fellowship, led by the Africa-China Centre for Policy and Advisory (ACCPA) and supported by the African Climate Foundation (ACF), focuses on equipping participants with the skills and knowledge to drive meaningful change.

The fellowship offers in-depth training in green finance, climate policy, and sustainable industrial development, all aimed at helping professionals design and implement real-world solutions to Africa’s climate and economic challenges.

In its pilot phase, the fellowship is delivered entirely online, providing flexibility for busy professionals across the continent.

Future editions are expected to include in-person residencies and industry experiences, depending on the programme’s growth and available funding.

Why This Fellowship Matters

Africa stands at a pivotal moment as it navigates the twin challenges of climate change and industrial transformation.

There’s a growing need for experts who understand how to use finance as a tool for sustainability — not just as a talking point but as a mechanism for action.

The SAGFA Fellowship addresses this need by empowering participants to create, influence, and implement financial strategies that encourage low-carbon growth and climate resilience.

Graduates of the programme will be equipped to move beyond advocacy and deliver practical, finance-driven solutions that can transform economies.
