Singing Of Petroleum Industry Act Is A Blessing To Her Institute

Engr. Sarki Anwalu, Chairman of the Petroleum Training Institute’s Governing Council, said the institution is better positioned and acknowledged as a vital participant in capacity building and competency training in the oil and gas industry as a result of the signing of the Petroleum Industry Act.

He went on to say that as a result of the repositioning, the institute has been given the authority to construct a National Driving School in collaboration with NNPC/SNEPCO and JFD Aberdeen, Scotland, in order to improve the school’s technical and developmental capability.

Engr. Anwalu further disclosed plans by the institute under the direction of the Governing Council to attain the ISO 9001 – 2015 certification, which will place the institute among the top-ranked educational institutions in the world.

Earlier, the Principal and Chief Executive of PTI, Dr Henry Adimula, said the institute has established collaboration with oil producers trade sector to align the curriculum to meet the industry expectations and improve technical competencies and capacity.

He added that the institute currently has an International Certification of various programmes along with plans to explore the Public/Private Partnership with local and international partners for the development of a modular refinery.

Dr Adimula said that the institute will continue to do its best in producing students with great entrepreneurship skills to reduce the rate of unemployment and unskilled persons in the nation.
