Simone Biles isn’t just making headlines for her incredible performances at the Paris Olympics. She’s also speaking out against the way reporters are handling post-medal interviews.

Biles, now the most decorated American gymnast in history, added another gold to her collection in the vault finals on Saturday.

The 27-year-old had already secured gold in the team finals and all-around events earlier in the week, bringing her total to three gold medals this Olympics with a score of 15.3 across her two vaults.

Despite her success, Biles took to social media to voice her frustration with reporters’ questions.

She posted on X, criticizing the tendency to ask athletes what’s next immediately after they win a medal.

Biles emphasized the importance of allowing athletes to savor their achievements.

When a fan asked Biles what her plans were after winning another gold, she humorously responded that she would be “babysitting the medal.” This light-hearted reply showcased her desire to enjoy her victory without the pressure of immediate future expectations.

A Historic Win

Biles’ victory in the vault final marked her seventh Olympic gold medal.

Performing in front of a star-studded audience, including John Travolta, Allyson Felix, Pharrell, and Flavor Flav, Biles averaged 15.3 for her Yurchenko double pike and Cheng vaults.

This win made her only the second woman, after Vera Casalavska, to win two vault crowns.

Continuing Success

With three gold medals already in Paris, Biles now has a total of 10 Olympic medals, tying her for the third most by a female gymnast. Her overall count of medals at major international competitions now stands at 40, the highest for any gymnast.

Looking Ahead

Biles isn’t done yet.

She has two more opportunities to add to her medal tally in Paris, as she is set to compete in the balance beam and floor exercise finals on Monday.

Simone Biles continues to shine both in her performances and her candid expressions, making her a standout figure in the world of gymnastics.
