A man attacked a woman at her house late at night and attempted to steal her handbag, according to shocking footage.
On Sunday night, Bessie was unpacking her car outside her Doonside home in Western Sydney when she was accosted by a man.
The terrifying moment the burglar raced from the side of the house towards the 27-year-front old’s door as she screamed and tried to close it was caught on camera by CCTV.
The man is able to push the door open and seize her handbag.
Bessie clings to her handbag and screams as the man tries to take it from her.
Due to the volume of Bessie’s screams, the thug eventually gives up and exits the scene.
He flees into a parked car outside the home and drives away.
Bessie then curses the man as he flees before collapsing on her porch in agony.
In a statement to Daily Mail Australia, NSW Police provided additional facts about the event and said that an investigation has been launched.
‘A 27-year-old woman was outside a property on Power Street, Doonside, about 9.40pm last night (Sunday 5 June 2022), unloading a vehicle,’ according to the statement.
‘As the woman neared the front door, a man approached her and took her handbag.’
‘After a fight, the man escaped along Power Street empty-handed.’
