Sheikha Fatima receives Queen Mathilde of Belgium

Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), received today Queen Mathilde of Belgium at Qasr Al Bahr.

Sheikha Fatima discussed with Queen Mathilde opportunities to enhance cooperation between women’s institutions for childhood and empowerment of families in the UAE and their counterparts in the Kingdom of Belgium.

Sheikha Fatima briefed the Queen of Belgium on the progress achieved by Emirati women in all walks of life thanks to the opportunities that they enjoy in the country to play their role in the development of society at various levels, stressing that Emirati women are a major partner in building and development of the state and its society.

”Women in the UAE have proven their capabilities and success in the various tasks and positions they assumed inside and outside the country,” she said.

On her part, Queen Mathilde also praised the many landmark humanitarian initiatives launched by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, especially to support refugees and in the fields of health, education, child care and women empowerment, and other initiatives that make a difference and an impact towards improving the lives of these target groups.

She expressed her thanks and appreciation to H.
