Seychelles: The Foreign Affairs Department holds its first Resident Honorary Consular Corps Meeting

Today, members of the Seychelles’ Resident Honorary Consular Corps gathered at Maison Quéau de Quinssy for its first in a series of meetings scheduled with the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting with Minister Sylvestre Radegonde served as an opportunity to formally meet the Honorary Consuls in person and also introduce the structure of the Foreign Affairs Department.

The Honorary Consuls discussed matters of mutual interest with the Seychelles Foreign Affairs Minister, exchanged views on their work and role as representatives of their respective countries in Seychelles.

On her part, the Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Vivianne Fock Tave, briefed the Honorary Consular Corps on the structure of the Department and the role of each of its divisions and units.

Among the Department’s officials present at the meeting was also the Chief of Protocol, Mr. Gervais Moumou, who elaborated on the procedures in place and the upcoming changes that will assist Honorary Consular Corps to deliver their functions.

Minister Radegonde reassured the Honorary Consuls present of the Government’s commitment to continue the engagement with the countries under their respective jurisdictions, as well as to strengthen the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation between Seychelles and their respective countries they represent.Distributed by APO Group on behalf of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism – Foreign Affairs Department, Republic of Seychelles.
