SHARJAH, 16th February, 2022 – Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA), in collaboration with Sharjah Municipality (SM), has launched a programme to reduce water use and install water-saving equipment and gadgets in 37 parks by 2022.

Ghada Juma Salem, Director of the Conservation Department, explained that the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has launched a number of awareness and technical initiatives aimed at conserving water consumption across all segments and groups of society, noting that installing the appropriate parts and tools significantly contributes to consumption reduction.

According to Ahmed Al Mihdhar, Head of the Technical Support Section at SEWA’s Conservation Department, installing water-saving parts saves more than 40 percent of use.

The Conservation Department is monitoring water consumption and implementing water-saving components in a number of Sharjah facilities, including several public parks, youth centres, mosques, schools, and government buildings.
