SEWA completes installation of lighting for 14 lighting projects in central region

SHARJAH, 12th September, 2021 – The Central Region Department of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has completed the installation of lighting for 14 projects of road and residential areas in the central region.
SEWA installed 2,865 lighting poles at a cost of AED 23.145 million, and a total of 133,600 kilometres of cables during the first half of 2021.
Khalifa Mohammad Al Tunaiji, Director of the Central Region Department at SEWA, confirmed that street and road lighting projects in the central region are ongoing, with high specifications and quality, using energy-saving headlights and lamps that are commensurate with highways, main, and side streets, to strengthen the infrastructure of the region, and develop their facilities.
He added that specialised teams with modern equipment executed the implementation of street lighting projects in the central region, and will follow up with periodical maintenance.
