Senegalese citizens were seen rejoicing in the streets of Harlem, New York, after their national team won the country’s first African Cup of Nations.
Senegal won the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in their history on Sunday, February 6, after defeating Egypt on penalties. Senegal won the shootout 4-2 after Sadio Mane scored the game-winning penalty after missing a penalty in the first half.
After extra time, the final score was 0-0. Senegalese nationals were seen waving their country’s flag and yelling “champions” as they celebrated in the streets of Harlem.
