Detectives from the Transnational and Organized Crime Unit rescued twenty-nine Ethiopian nationals suspected of being victims of human trafficking yesterday.
Based on intelligence tips, sleuths at the DCI Headquarters tracked down the victims to a house in Nairobi’s Sunrise estate, Donholm neighborhood.
The officers discovered the victims locked up in one room, looking distressed and unsure of their next destination, after obtaining entry to the property.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the victims were being smuggled to the Middle East where they had been promised good jobs and better lives.

During the operation, a 31-year old woman identified as Geldo daldalo was arrested as the main suspect. A Motor vehicle make Toyota Alphard silver in color suspected to have ferried the victims was also detained.
The victims were taken to Buru Buru police station for holding and further identification as the suspect was detained at Muthaiga police station for processing.
