Security tips from the Nigeria Police Force for this season

The Nigeria Police Form NPF released some security tips that will help the citizen stay safe and vigilant.

The tips released on the NPF facebook page list points to consider while in a public place.

Security tips to stay safe this season

  • When travelling, make your luggage well distinctive from others. This is to prevent excuses of luggage lookalike and to easily recognize your luggage from afar

  • Hold your bag and properties firmly

  • Dont make important calls in public areas

  • Handle your cash transaction discretely

  • Dont take food or drink items from strangers

  • Dont discuss or expose your private life to strangers

Tips to stay safe from Covid19

To reduce the risk of spread of COVID-19, members of the public are advised to adhere to the following measures:

  1. Wear a face mask/covering when out in public

  2. Wash your hands frequently with soap under running water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based sanitiser if water is not available

  3. Maintain a physical distance of at least 2 metres from others in public spaces

  4. Cover your mouth and nose properly with a tissue paper when sneezing and/or coughing. Dispose of the tissue properly immediately after use. You may also cough into your elbow if a tissue is not available

  5. Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness

  6. Stay home if you feel unwell until you recover. Do not mingle with others or congregate

  7. Avoid large gatherings of more than 50 persons and gatherings where physical distancing measures are not put in place

COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Most infected people will develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalization.

Less common symptoms:
  • aches and pains
  • sore throat
  • diarrhoea
  • conjunctivitis
  • headache
  • loss of taste or smell
  • a rash on skin, or discolouration of fingers or toes
Serious symptoms:
  • difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
  • chest pain or pressure
  • loss of speech or movement
