Secure Nigeria First Initiative Visits Army Headquarters, Pledges Support To Nigeria Army Operations

The Secure Nigeria First Initiative (SNFI), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) advocating for peaceful Nigeria visited Army Headquarters, Abuja today Thursday 17 June 2021 to advocate for a peaceful Nigerian. The group was led by its President, Mr Usman Paul pledged to support the Nigerian Army (NA) in ensuring a safe and secure Nigeria for economic development.

The President who was represented by the Special Adviser to the Cross River State Governor on Media and Cinematography, Prince Edward Godswill, stated that the team in partnership with other members of the organisation in the diaspora are concerned over the level of insecurity which has affected businesses in the country. He said the security situation in the country is of great concern to the youths and their Chinese partners who are involved in construction contracts in the country. The group pledged to contribute their quota towards ensuring a safe society for all.

While congratulating the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Maj Gen Faruk Yahaya for a well-deserved appointment, the team leader added that the organization has been able to establish a mutual relationship with the Chinese Interdepartmental Committee to assist the NA in ensuring the security and protection of lives of citizens and foreigners doing business in the Nigeria.

Responding, the COAS represented by the Chief of Civil Military Affairs, Maj Gen AB Omozoje thanked the team for the patriotic move to support the NA in ensuring a safe and secure nation. He informed the team that all issues regarding the defence and security of the nation is being considered by the government agencies, adding that several engagements are ongoing to bring issues relating to insecurity under control.

The COAS assured the team that the NA is up and doing in ensuring law abiding citizens are adequately protected and to bring the security challenges under control adding that the NA is committed to its constitutional responsibility despite the enormous challenges caused by insecurity.

He commended the NGO for its interest in ensuring a secure Nigeria, assuring them that all forms of criminality will be history in no distant future. High point of the visit was the presentation of Souvenir and group photographs.
