The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has published the payment schedule for June 2023, outlining the collection dates for disability grants.
Payment Dates for Social Grants
SASSA has designated the first week of each month for the disbursement of elderly, child, and disability grants.
Following this, Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant recipients and other beneficiaries will receive their payments.
All beneficiaries, except SRD recipients, can collect their grants from South African Post Office branches.
June Payment Dates
The payment dates for June have been announced by SASSA.
Older person grants will be available for collection on 2 June 2023, followed by disability grants on 5 June 2023, and children’s grants on 6 June 2023.
It is important to note that there is no fixed payment date for the special COVID-19 SRD grant.
Validity Extension for Expired SASSA/Postbank Gold Cards
SASSA has extended the validity of expired SASSA/Postbank Gold Cards until 31 December 2023.
Beneficiaries with expired cards can continue using them for social grant transactions at ATMs and merchant point of sale (POS) without the need to collect new cards or switch to other banks.
Assurance for Social Grant Beneficiaries
SASSA assures social grant beneficiaries with gold cards that there will be no disruptions in receiving their grants until the end of the year.
Recipients are encouraged to visit SASSA offices if they wish to change their payment method and receive their funds through personal banks.
The extended cards can be used at any ATM or machine.
