South Africans have been captivated by yet another story of swindling on Tuesday, after it was revealed the CEO of a local travel company defrauded her clients for MILLIONS of rand. Tasneem Moosa has effectively disappeared after the allegations were made public – but her victims are seeking justice.
Who is Tasneem Moosa? Alleged ‘holiday swindler’ exposed online
The so-called ‘holiday swindler’ – nicknamed in homage to a recent Netflix documentary – has deactivated her online profiles. Social media is abuzz with complaints, although none of the individuals who said they were scammed by Hello Darlings indicated that they have opened a case against the accused.
They also did not provide the exact money they lost, but it’s understood Tasneem Moosa has managed to hoodwink dozens, if not hundreds, of unsuspecting customers. No wonder she’s laying low.
Better question… WHERE is Tasneem Moosa?
Unverified reports have claimed that Moosa has fled South Africa – something we are still trying to confirm. She is based in Johannesburg, but there’s no trace of elusive fraudster to be found here.
I’m getting scores of messages from people who lost money. Some claim Tasneem Moosa has left the country. I suggest open fraud and theft charges with the @SAPoliceService if you are a victim. @NPA_Prosecutes @INTERPOL_HQ https://t.co/AOJIEsQSiH

Hello Darlings branded a ‘scam’
A little bit of digging has also revealed that Hello Darlings claim to have other bases in Pretoria, Dubai, and even Istanbul. According to her LinkedIn page, the company specialises in female-only travel and family packages.
Sadly, those who have been targeted never got to experience their dream getaways. The mysterious disappearance of Tasneem Moosa leaves so many unanswered questions – and it’s unclear if justice will be secured for her victims.
