Salma Hayek graces Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover in Miami at age 58 shocking fans with her ageless beauty

When you think of Sports Illustrated’s legendary swimsuit issue, chances are you picture models in their twenties.

But this year, SI shook things up by putting Salma Hayek—yes, Frida herself—on the front page at 58 years old.

From Movie Icon to Swimsuit Sensation

Salma Hayek, the Mexican–Lebanese actress known for roles in Frida and From Dusk Till Dawn, didn’t expect to see her face in SI’s glossy pages.

“I’m nearly 60!” she laughed on Today with Savannah Guthrie.

“I remember flipping through as a kid, wanting to see the new ‘it’ girl—and I never thought I could be that girl.”

Imposter Syndrome Hits Hard

Even after decades in Hollywood, Salma says seeing herself on that famous cover brought a wave of imposter syndrome.

“My body’s not the typical model type,” she admitted. “To get this cover at 58 is really shocking—and incredible.”

A Platform Beyond Swimsuits

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit editor-in-chief MJ Day explains why Hayek’s inclusion matters: “We celebrate people shaping culture and showcasing beauty at every age.”

Alongside Hayek, 2025’s issue features gymnast Livvy Dunne, Olympic athlete Jordan Chiles, and model Lauren Chan, each bringing their own story of passion and purpose.

Behind the Lens: Ruven Afanador’s Vision

Photographed by Ruven Afanador, Hayek’s shoot highlights her ageless confidence.

The SI team praises each woman for the unique impact they make, whether on screen, in sports, or in everyday life.

Fitness, Family, and Feeling Fabulous

Hayek credits her youthful glow to restorative yoga, juice cleanses, and brisk walks with her many dogs—her “trainers,” she quips.

In past interviews, she’s sworn off Botox and fillers, instead using tepezcohuite, a Mexican tree-bark extract famous for healing burns and rejuvenating skin.

Love and Life with François-Henri Pinault

Off camera, Salma’s happily married to French billionaire François-Henri Pinault.

The couple tied the knot in Paris in 2009, and she says, “Getting older didn’t mean stopping work or losing love—I’m still here, still in love.”

Mark Your Calendar

Salma’s debut SI Swimsuit Issue hits newsstands on May 17.

Whether you’re a longtime fan or discovering her for the first time, this cover proves beauty—and opportunity—knows no age.
