A number of unnamed Pentagon officials have expressed interest in delivering a “decapitation strike” to the Kremlin. In an interview with TASS, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that such words constitute a threat to physically eliminate the Russian president.
Lavrov stated, “If someone has such notions, they should carefully consider the probable repercussions of their actions.”
Previously, the Russian embassy in Washington drew attention to a “crazy” option of the American command — a so-called decapitation blow against the Russian military and political leadership.
“I would like to assume that such ludicrous arguments do not represent the official stance of the United States Department of Defense. Otherwise, the globe has approached a perilous threshold, and Caribbean Crisis 2.0 looms on the horizon. Diplomats stated that they assume Washington is aware of the increasing nature of such dangerous language.
