What started as an ordinary day on the golf course quickly turned into pure comedy—and a little bit of chaos—when an unexpected feathered opponent entered the scene.
Instead of worrying about bunkers or tricky putts, one college golfer suddenly found himself battling a very determined goose.
The Viral Clip That Took Over TikTok
The unforgettable moment was captured on camera and later shared by Tyler Lynch, a junior golfer for Division-III Goucher College in Towson, Maryland.
Originally recorded during a tournament on April 5, the clip resurfaced last month and has since exploded online, racking up over 7.7 million views on TikTok with the caption “Dear golf.”
Meet the Unlucky Target of the Goose
The golfer under attack is believed to be Samuel Tyson, Lynch’s teammate at the time and the only “Sam” on Goucher’s roster.
Tyson, unaware of the goose strutting across his path, tried stepping back to avoid any drama.
But the bird had other plans. In a flash, the goose lunged at him, sending Tyson swinging his club in self-defense.
Swinging, Slipping, and Splashing
The battle didn’t exactly go his way.
While trying to fend off the aggressive bird, Tyson stumbled, lost his footing, and tumbled backward into a water hazard.
For a moment, he just lay there soaked before scrambling out and bolting, while his teammates behind the camera couldn’t stop laughing.
The Goose Wasn’t Finished Yet
To make matters even funnier, the goose wasn’t done.
It emerged from the water too, swooping near Tyson’s head.
Another goose even showed up, raising the stakes.
Tyson, though soaked and embarrassed, stood his ground for a brief moment with his club raised.
In the end, he chose the smarter option—running away unharmed, except for being drenched.
From Tournament Play to Internet Fame
The incident happened during the Catholic Cardinal Classic at Blackrock Golf Course in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Despite the chaotic encounter, Tyson still managed to finish with a respectable score, tying for 20th place with a 5-over-par round.
Interestingly, he’s no longer listed on the Goucher roster for the upcoming season, suggesting he may have transferred or stepped away from the team.
Even Brands Joined the Fun
As the clip gained momentum online, even major brands couldn’t resist chiming in.
Charmin, the toilet paper company, jumped into the comments, joking that Tyson showed the “survival instincts of a fart.”
