Rob Gronkowski calls out Bill Belichick for allowing media distractions to take over his UNC football leadership

Rob Gronkowski is never one to hold back, and this time, he’s aiming his criticism at his old coach, Bill Belichick.

But this isn’t about Xs and Os — it’s about Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, and the whirlwind of media noise surrounding her presence at UNC.

From Defense to Doubt: Gronk Changes His Tune

Just weeks ago, Gronk had Belichick’s back. He praised Hudson for defending the coach during a now-infamous CBS interview, where she swiftly cut off a question about how the couple met.

On the Dudes on Dudes podcast, Gronk called her a “representative” for Belichick and didn’t seem bothered by her involvement.

Fast forward a couple of weeks, and Gronk’s stance has clearly shifted.

Appearing on 98.5 The Sports Hub, he reflected on Belichick’s own long-standing “no distractions” mantra from their time together in New England — and pointed out the irony of the current circus in Chapel Hill.

“When you were on the Patriots, the whole goal was to eliminate distractions,” Gronk said.

“Now, it feels like there’s just 24/7 distractions down in North Carolina — and no one’s even talking about football.”

The Ban That Was… and Then Wasn’t

The drama hit new heights when sports journalist Pablo Torre claimed on his podcast that Hudson had been banned from UNC’s football facilities.

According to his sources, she was no longer welcome and wouldn’t be involved going forward.

But then UNC stepped in with a statement of its own, denying any such ban.

They clarified that Hudson would continue managing Belichick’s personal brand — though only outside his official football duties.

In response, Torre doubled down. He noted that UNC could frame the situation however they wanted but stood by his original reporting, citing high-level sources and dozens of ignored FOIA requests.

Hudson’s Growing Influence Raises Eyebrows

So, how much influence does Hudson really have? Apparently, quite a bit.

She was described as a “constant presence” during Belichick’s CBS Sunday Morning segment.

An email obtained by The Assembly showed Belichick instructing UNC staffers to include her in all email correspondence with him.

There were also whispers that she may have played a role in pulling the plug on HBO’s Hard Knocks covering Belichick at UNC — all due to creative control issues.

A New PR Face for Belichick?

Now, it seems the winds are shifting. Reports from Pro Football Talk suggest that Belichick is already in talks with former Chicago Bears VP of communications Brandon Faber to handle his public image — including UNC matters and his upcoming book tour.

According to the Daily Mail, Belichick hasn’t been too fazed by the public scrutiny he and Hudson are facing.

But the fact that even Gronk is calling him out speaks volumes.

What Comes Next?

This saga isn’t over. With conflicting reports, PR shakeups, and former players chiming in, the line between Belichick’s personal and professional life is blurrier than ever.

Whether Hudson remains part of his inner circle or steps away quietly remains to be seen.

One thing’s for sure — this isn’t the distraction-free Belichick world we’re used to.
