Wildfire Reported in Rhondda Valley, South Wales
Reports are coming in of a fire that has started on the top of a mountain in the Rhondda Valley, located in the southern region of Wales.
While the details are still scarce, local residents have said that the fire appears to have started on the mountain near Dinam Park in Ton Pentre.
From the photos taken at the scene, it appears that fire crews have arrived to tackle the blaze.
Appeal to Stay Away from the Area
In a statement on social media, Buffy Williams Rhondda MS has appealed to locals to avoid the area for their own safety.
She said: “I can see that unfortunately there’s a fire on the mountain behind Dinam Park in Ton.
The emergency services will be working into the night to try to put out the blaze.
I can’t thank them enough.
Please stay away from the area on foot.”
