AmaZulu Announces Changes in Technical Team
AmaZulu Football Club has recently announced significant changes to their technical team. Coach Romain Folz will be taking on a new role within the club, while Ayanda Dlamini will step in as the interim coach.
The club has made these changes in response to their recent performance in the league.
New Roles: Interim Coach and Technical Director Appointments
In an official statement released on Tuesday, AmaZulu confirmed the appointment of Ayanda Dlamini as interim coach for the remainder of the current season.
Romain Folz, on the other hand, will assume the position of technical director.
Folz’s New Responsibilities
As the new technical director, Folz will be responsible for advising AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu on the club’s Vision 2032.
However, he will not be involved in the day-to-day running of the team or the selection of matchday squads.
President’s Commentary on Technical Team Changes
AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu expressed his concerns about the team’s performance and emphasized the importance of results in football.
He stated on the club’s website, “The game is result driven and with six matches to go occupying 12th position, it is clear the performance is not fitting of a club like AmaZulu Football Club.”
Dlamini’s Immediate Task
Dlamini’s primary responsibility as the caretaker coach is to secure the remaining 18 points available in the season. He has the challenging task of preparing the team for their upcoming match against Cape Town City this weekend.
Continued Collaboration with Folz
Despite the team’s underwhelming performance under Folz’s watch, AmaZulu had recently offered him a new three-year deal.
Zungu expressed his gratitude for Folz’s contributions to the team and emphasized the value of his continued involvement in the club’s strategic vision.
Decision Made After Recent Loss
The decision to reassign roles within the technical team was made in response to AmaZulu’s recent 1-0 loss to Swallows FC, during which George Maluleka collapsed on the pitch.
The club hopes these changes will improve their performance and bring positive results in the remaining games of the season.
